Can you believe it’s the third day of the new year? Time is just flying by! 2018 was a powerful year for me since I was able to land my first post-grad job and it was my first year living in Dallas. I got to do so many amazing things such as getting more creative with my blog posts, making new blogger friends, exploring beautiful cities and starting my own social media consulting business! Here are the best posts of 2018:
Best Outfit Posts
Summer is my favorite season and it’s when I’m the most inspired so it’s no surprise that my best outfit posts were around that time! It was my first time experiencing summer in the south and I remember it was awful taking photos outside but somehow I got through it haha. This was also around the time that I decided to take a chance and change my aesthetic – I moved away from neutral and “all white” backgrounds to adding in more color and warmth to my photos. This was probably one of the best decisions I’ve made for my brand because it opened up so many more creative possibilities! In 2019, I recommend all bloggers to step out of their comfort zones and try something new with their content.
I always knew that once I got my first post-grad job, I would reward myself with something special. As a shoe lover, these Dior heels were on the top of my list and even after a year I still love them and wear them often! I’m so glad I went with the classic black and white design which goes with so many outfits and I can even wear them to work! Unfortunately this style is sold out online but they do have the patent leather version here or check out my detailed review before you buy here.
Best Beauty Post
I’ll admit, the beauty section of my blog has been lacking and that’s really because I haven’t been purchasing a lot of beauty products lately. I did switch up my look for a few months and started wearing clip-in hair extensions for a fuller look as seen in my “How to Make Hair Extensions Look Natural” and loved the look of them but hated how much time it took to get ready in the mornings. By the end of 2018, I decided to go natural again but maybe it’s time for some new changes in 2019? What do you think?
Best Travel Post
Without a doubt, my favorite place that I traveled to in 2018 was Palm Beach. I always wanted to stay at The Colony hotel and decided to cross it off on my bucket list in February – just in time for my birthday. It’s amazing how one trip can inspire you so much and I can’t wait to go back! You can check out my travel guide here and my review of The Colony hotel here.
Best Lifestyle Post
One of my highlights of 2018 was writing my “What It’s Really Like Being a Social Media Specialist” post which got syndicated on HerCampus.com! Career posts aren’t that common on my blog but it’s something that I would love to write more about in 2019 especially since everyone seems to be so interested in careers in the social media industry and how to use your blog to your advantage.
Overall, I just wanted to say thank you so much for reading this little blog of myn over the years. I’m grateful for each and every one of you and to have this creative outlet that’s rewarded me in so many ways!
