Dream Shoes: Dior J’Adior Slingback Pumps Review

If someone told me that my first purchase after getting a post-grad job would be a pair of designer heels, I never would’ve believed them! Since when would I splurge so much on heels? I don’t even wear them everyday! Yet last year when these heels were released by Dior, I just couldn’t get them off my mind. They’re simple enough to wear on an everyday basis and goes with multiple outfits yet also a statement piece with the J’Adior straps. Most importantly, they’re a designer piece that wouldn’t go out of style easily and can be worn for years to come which is something that’s so important to me! After studying them in stores multiple times, I finally bit the bullet and bought them at Neiman Marcus and will always remember them as the first thing that I bought at my first real adult job. I thought I should write a review if you feel like splurging on them but you’re still not sure.

The Dior J’Adior slingback pumps comes in multiple colors like navy blue, red, and white as well as different materials such as velvet, fabric (which is myn), and a shiny patent leather. They’re constantly coming up with new designs since it’s one of the most popular shoes in stores right now. I went with the fabric material in black cause it’s practical and won’t get dirty or show scratches/scoffs as easily. Keep in mind, the fabric material is constantly sold out so it might be harder to find. I bought myn at the Neiman Marcus at Northpark Mall in Dallas and there was only 3 left in stock and had to be shipped so the search might be difficult. No matter what color or material you get, the straps are always white (except for one that’s black and sheer nude and has J’Adior written in crystals) so the design easily stands out yet is still subtle enough to not be too distracting from your outfits.

Before buying the shoes, I did a lot of research and everyone said that they’re the most comfortable pumps. I’ve never been a fan of pointy pumps yet these are amazing! It’s probably because of the leather soles which makes it so much more comfortable to walk in. Also, the heel isn’t too high so it doesn’t feel awkward walking in them.

My only complaint is the strap! I had to size up since European designer shoes run small and the strap is too loose so I wear foot pads which push my feet back so the strap doesn’t fall. It’s an easy fix but a little bit annoying. Oh well!

Okay, so the thing that I hate most about it is the price. Dior doesn’t come cheap! (then again at least it’s not as bad as Chanel prices!). I spent a lot of time thinking about buying these shoes and if it’s worth it and personally for me it is but I probably wouldn’t buy a pair of shoes this expensive ever again for a long time lol. Yet what made it worth it for me was the cost per wear – I could easily wear these to work everyday (as well as special occasions) and it would go with all of my outfits so I would get tons of use. Also the fact that they’re an investment piece and if I ever wanted to sell them (which I won’t) then I could sell them for a good price or even more than what I originally bought them for since this style is so iconic. But hey everyone’s different so I highly recommend really thinking about it carefully before purchasing them.

Overall, this is an incredible pair of shoes to invest and I have no regrets! I can’t wait until I make my next designer purchase, even though it won’t be for a long time though lol. It’s just so addicting! What’s on your designer wishlist? Let me know below!
