Not gonna lie, I always despised my curly/wavy hair (which one is it, I don’t know!). It’s such a battle getting it to look good in it’s natural form (here’s a rare post with my natural hair) so I always just blow dry it straight and call it a day. Sadly, I’ve never found too many products that works well for curly hair without weighing it down or making it look greasy. That’s why I was intrigued when I was chosen for the Kerastase Discipline Curl voxbox which is specifically for managing curly hair. The voxbox contains the Cleansing Conditioner and the Oleo Curl which is a styling product to use afterwards. P.S. you don’t have to be a blogger in order to receive free voxboxes in the mail! Why no shampoo you ask? Because the Cleansing Conditioner does it for you! Woah, I know. Curly hair tends to be dry and needs lot of moisturize in order to be healthy but regular shampoos tend to be too harsh and strips away the natural oils. I’ve heard of conditioners that clean your hair before but there’s so few out on the market and I always hear mixed reviews about it so I was surprised when Kerastase had their version of it.
All you have to do is wet your hair, apply it to your scalp and spread along to your roots and tips, leave in for 3-5 minutes, and then rinse. The results? For my hair it was a little too heavy and weighed down my curls but that could be from using too much product or that I left it on my hair for too long. Also, my hair just didn’t feel clean especially because I use so many styling products and the Cleansing Conditioner wasn’t strong enough to get rid of the build up.
Although I will say my curls were a lot more defined and smoother and the SMELL. Kerastase products always smell amazing! I could definitely see this being a great product for someone with super thick, uncontrollable, curly hair that needs a lot of moisturize and doesn’t use a lot of styling products. Just keep in mind that the amount of product that you use depends on the thickness of your hair.
As for the Oleo Curl styling product, I used a dime size amount throughout my curls when it was dry and the results weren’t spectacular or anything. It defined my curls for a couple of hours and got rid of the frizz that I absolutely hate so that was a plus. But it seems just like every other styling product for curly hair out there. Although once again, the smell is just amazing!
Thanks for reading and what are your favorite products for curly hair?

Can I ask you a huge favor? Could you post a photo of the ingredients of the Cleansing Conditioner? I've been searching everywhere for them online with no luck. It looks like you might have it on the bottle? Thank you so much for your help. ~Liz
