For curly hair gals like me, straightening our hair is a lot of work and we like to do it as a little as possible. In fact, I usually straighten my hair at night because it takes it so long and I’m pretty sure I would be at least 2 hours late to class if I even attempted to do it in the morning. So how exactly does my hair stay perfectly straight until morning? With this one simple trick:
I like to call it the face ponytail haha. Okay, so there’s no official name for this and I’m not even sure how I came across this technique because I’m 100% sure I didn’t come up with it on my own. But it works and it’s not a common technique so naturally I thought I should share it with you gals!
After blow-drying my hair straight (which you can read more about and the products I use here) and it’s time for bed, I brush my hair and pull it all the way to an extremely high ponytail (it should be past the top of your head!) and secure with a ponytail holder that isn’t too tight or else you’ll wake up with a headache in the morning. Now, if you did this right then your ponytail should be hanging in front of your face. Yes, it’s weird but we do weird stuff for beauty am I right? Whether you sleep on your back or on your side, this trick will help to keep your hair tangle-free and most importantly: straight all the way until the morning. The best part is that when you wake up and take out the ponytail, you’ll have incredible volume and will pretty much look like a super model throughout the day. Just sayin.
Word of advice: in order for this to work, your hair has to be 100% dry. Sometimes when I blow-dry my hair straight, I miss certain spots such as the back and it’ll cause the rest of my hair to get wet throughout the night so be careful.
Hope this post helps! I know that’s such a simple tip and you were probably expecting something much more complicated due to the title of the post haha. Nope! Life is already complicated enough (especially Mondays), your hair shouldn’t be.
