Photographers always seem to praise, what they like to call “The Golden Hour”, which is an hour before sunrise or sunset and is considered to be the best times of day to shoot. The effect of the sun seems to be your best friend around those times since the sun gives off a warm glow to photos making you appear vibrant while the shadows makes a regular photo seem so much more interesting. My photographer, Fatima and I wanted to do something different with this outfit post so we decided to put The Golden Hour to the test and see if it’s really worth the hype.
We chose to do the shoot an hour before sunset and I’ll admit it was difficult getting the right shots around this time. Many of the photos either turned out too dark or created shadows in all the wrong places but in the end we seemed to get a couple good shots. I still consider myself new to blogging about outfits so I’m always looking for different ways to present them and I’m not afraid of the trial and error process. I’m sure there will be tons more hits and misses when it comes to my blog posts but as long as I enjoy doing it, I’ll keep going!
Sorry for that long rant, on to the outfit! I typically don’t shop at the Gap but once in a while I like to go in there and see if they have anything interesting. This nautical dress is just one of those gems that I’ve found in there that completely reminded me of what Audrey Hepburn would wear in the summer. It’s just so classy and most importantly, comfortable for lazy hot days!
I decided to pair it with these futuristic-looking flats from Express and a pop of hot pink with this satchel that’s also from there. Satchels have become my best friend and I feel like I want to buy this one in every color since it feels so smooth and has tons of room.
Until next time lovelies,
