Hey guys! I haven’t posted about travel in a while and that’s because I’ve been too busy planning my new trip! Unfortunately it’s going to be in 2015 (wow it feels weird saying 2015) but good things come to those who wait. My New Years resolution for 2014 was to take more risks and sadly I haven’t been keeping up with the resolution that well. It’s hard taking risks when you’re so attached to a comfort zone but I figured when is it ever the right time to take a risk? You can’t predict it therefore you need to just jump right in and take a chance! Which brings me to the story of how I decided to take more chances with my traveling plans…
Wanderlust News: Travel Plans for 2015
A little over a month ago, one of my dear friends told me that she found a travel agency that sets up travel plans specifically for college kids who are on break. She decided to sign up for a month long trip that tours all the sights in Europe and asked me for travel advice. Although I happily told her everything I knew, I was also instantly envious (who wouldn’t be?!) that she was taking such a huge risk while I was just stuck here for the summer. If I love to travel so much then why haven’t I done something like this?
I always made excuses for myself when it comes to taking chances. “I don’t have enough money”, “It’ll be too hard”, “You can do it after college is over” and blah, blah, blah. That was completely my fear talking to me. The reality is that the future isn’t guaranteed for any of us. If you’re going to do something then you better do it now. You’ll never be ready to take a risk but that is the beauty of it.
So what cities am I traveling to next year during spring break? LONDON AND PARIS! All throughout my life I’ve always dreamed of visiting these two cities. I’ve seen the cities tons of times in magazines, movies, and even on other fashion bloggers’ websites but it’s going to be completely different visiting it for myself. I’ve noticed that I’m always attracted to cities with tons of culture, art, and beauty so why shouldn’t I start with these two fashion capitals first?
Oh and did I mention I’m going with my best friend? It seriously doesn’t get any better than this. I’ll admit I am nervous (okay a lot nervous!) but that doesn’t mean that I’m not ridiculously excited as well! I never thought that I would be doing this at such a young age but then again I wish I did this sooner! It’s an amazing feeling to go after your dreams and break free from routine.
With this, I’d like to end this post by saying that wanderlust is a beautiful thing and I hope each and every one of you catches it and pursues even the most scariest of travel plans. I was fortunate enough to travel most of America and to be able to call Turkey my second home but there’s so many cities left to see in the world! Why not do it while you’re young? What do you really have to lose?
Until next time lovelies,
-Ruya
