Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day weekend! My Mom and I went to Dolce Riveria for brunch yesterday and if you’re following me on Instagram then you might’ve noticed all the Stories that I was putting up. I just can’t help it – the place was so chic and I still can’t believe I live in a city where there’s so many gorgeous places to go to and explore. Should I do more posts on things to do in Dallas? Lately I find myself struggling to balance both my blog and a full time job on top of everything else but what else is new? lol. Luckily, I was on my computer yesterday and found this old shoot that I never even had time to publish before and suddenly felt re-inspired. This shoot was taken when I had visited The Statler a month ago and my friend and I had fallen in love with the view at the rooftop bar (there’s so many amazing ones in downtown Dallas!) and just had to do a shoot even though it was 90 degrees. Naturally, it was super windy and at times I felt ridiculous shooting in that kind of weather but it was also so much fun!
I think one of the reasons why I get uninspired with the blog from time to time is because I focus so much on the business side of it that I forget that I had originally started it 4 years ago because I wanted to do something creative and fun in my life. I think this is going to be something that I want to focus on more because it easily reflects in blog photos – they just seem to turn out better when it’s clear that you’re enjoying what you’re doing.
Anyways onto the outfit, I got this top last year at J. Crew and they’re still selling it but in other colors and patterns. It’s super lightweight and I have a thing for one shoulder tops which just looks so chic during the summertime. I paired it with my white denim skirt and my go-to wooden bag which is a dupe of Cult Gaia (but only $40!) and these brown wedges which are super comfortable to walk in. What’s your go-to outfit for the summertime? Any summer essentials that you can’t live without? I’d love to know!
Thanks for reading,
That bag is so cute!! My favorite summer essential is a black maxi dress. I find it to be so versatile and flattering and great for so many occasions!
This top is darling on you! So glad to hear you enjoyed your weekend.
