Without a doubt, one of my favorite hairstyles is the beach waves look. It’s so easy to create, looks great on all hair lengths, and you don’t have to make it look perfect since it looks better messy. All you need is a curling wand and a few of my favorite brushes from Goody. Let’s get started!
Step One:
Since my hair isn’t naturally straight (so envious of gals with straight hair!) I’m going to start by using the Goody Straight Talk Porcupine Hot Round Brush to help blow dry my hair straight. For girls with straight hair, feel free to skip to the next step. I love using this round brush because it creates so much volume and leaves my hair smooth and sleek.
Beach waves usually look best on hair that hasn’t been washed for a day or two because curls tend to hold better on hair that isn’t squeaky clean and gives better texture. Of course product build up isn’t a good thing so I like to begin by brushing my hair with Goody Clean Radiance Oval Cushion Brush which has copper bristles that helps to reduce build up which helps to leave your hair shiny and healthy.
Next apply a heat protectant and begin curling your hair in different directions with a curling wand. I like to mix it up by curling thin and thick pieces in order to add to that tousled, undone look. Make sure to loosely wrap your hair around the wand and not make it a tight curl, as shown in the picture.
Once you’ve curled your whole head, here’s the fun part: messing it up! Using my Goody Gelous Grip Paddle Brush, brush through the curls for that wavy effect that’s not tangled, thanks to the brush. The bristles are gentle and flexible and not only works for this hairstyle, but is great for everyday use if you have frizzy, thick hair like I do.
The Final Look:
Finish off with some hairspray and there you have it! Super easy and the perfect hairstyle that works year-round for all sorts of occasions. If you’re in the market for some new hairbrushes, I recommend these ones that I used from Goody that are available at Wal-Mart. The Goody website also offers more information about the brushes that I used in this post and the importance of brush education so check it out!
