Valentine’s Day is almost here and I don’t know about you but I’m in the mood to get all glammed up (okay, so when am I not?). Whether you’re celebrating Galentine’s Day with your besties or heading to a fancy dinner with your significant other, I thought this romantic smokey eyes look would be perfect for the occasion. Let’s get started!
Step 1: Mauve Crease Shade
I already went ahead and applied foundation, filled in my eyebrows, and applied blush/bronzer to my cheeks so let’s move on to the eyes. For this look, I’m going to be using the Maybelline Rock Nudes Palette which has 12 shades that includes both matte and shimmery colors. Apply the matte, mauve shade onto your crease and make sure to blend it so there is no harsh lines.
Step 2: Plum and Charcoal Shade
Next I applied the matte plum color to the middle of my lid and the matte charcoal shade to the outer corners. I recommend starting out by adding a little bit to the corners, blending, and then adding some more until you achieved the look that you want. Some people prefer a little bit of a smokey look (such as myself) while others prefer more drama to their eyes. It’s all up to you!
Step 3: Line & Highlight
Take that same charcoal shade and with the applicator that the palette comes with, line the bottom of your eyes halfway. This creates a clean, finished look while also making your eyes look bigger. Then, take the white shade in the palette and highlight the inner corners of your eyes and the brow bone.
Step 4: Eyeliner
In order to define your eyes more and make it look sultry, line your eyes with the Maybelline Master Precise Liner in Black.
Step 5: Mascara
No makeup look is complete without mascara and the Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara definitely delivers. I love how unique the mascara brush is with cup-shaped bristles that gets to all the hard to reach spots and gives incredible volume. Plus the mascara tube is pink and red! Talk about festive! haha.
Step 6: Lipstick
Since the eyes are so dark, I prefer to use a light lip shade in order to balance it out. Nude colors typically don’t look good on my pale skin, so I went with the Maybelline Color Sensational LipColor in Romantic Rose which is a soft, rose shade with hints of brown in it. One of my biggest pet peeves is lipsticks that dry out your lips but this one’s so creamy and moisturizing!
And we’re finished! A gorgeous smokey eyes look that’s easy to recreate at home.
If you’re wondering where I got the products from, check out your local Wal-Mart’s Maybelline aisle and try out the look yourself.
Until next time lovelies,
-Ruya
