They say that your eyes are the windows to your soul. I always believed this saying to be true and think eyes are the most beautiful features that everyone has. Whether your eyes are a warm brown or a striking blue, great makeup can define your eyes and enhance your beauty. When it comes to makeup, I can’t leave the house without eyeliner and mascara on. Even when I’m running late, I always keep some extras in my school bag so I can put it on later. I can always count on them to instantly perk up my face and make me look refreshed and polished (although I’m feeling nowhere near that!). The brand that I’ve been using for years and always go back to is L’Oreal. Recently I discovered the Lineur Intense Brush Tip Liquid Eyeliner and the Voluminous Butterfly Mascara and love how I can use them for all sorts of looks and occasions. Since 90% of the time, I’m at college I decided that I should show you some college-appropriate looks that define your eyes while not being over the top.
This is my everyday go-to look and is frequently seen in my blog posts cause it’s just so effortless. The first step is to make sure your eyes are free of any makeup and just in case you have oily lids, now would be the time to put on some eye primer. Since my skin is dry, I usually go straight to Lineur Intense Brush Tip Liquid Eyeliner and prefer the brush since it glides smoothly and doesn’t tug the delicate skin around my eyes. The second step is to practice making the perfect line by doing a couple practice strokes on the back of my hand. Next, I start by drawing a line in the middle of my eyelid as close to the lash line as possible and then draw in the inner and outer corners, creating one long line. The last step is to apply 2 coats of Voluminous Butterfly Mascara to both the top and bottom lashes for thick, defined lashes. Make sure to push the mascara comb up so that it coats each lash perfectly.
On the days where I’m feeling a little retro or just want my eye makeup to look more interesting, I’ll do a cat eye. I recommend starting with look #1 and then extending the line up with small strokes. It helps to use a business card to get the angle just right on both eyes and make sure not to make it too long!
In college, there’s plenty of events to go to and if I need a fancier eye look I’ll usually go with this one. Just start with look #2 and carefully apply liner to the bottom lid, stopping about halfway. If you make any mistakes simply dip a Q-tip in some makeup remover!
There’s so many more looks you can create with these two products that can be found at your local Albertsons/Safeway stores.
Hope you enjoyed seeing my favorite college makeup looks. Have you tried these two L’Oreal products before? Let me know!
