Polka Dots and Mesh

Sometimes I think that the outfits that we pull together at the last minute turn out to be the best ones. Or at least that’s the case with this outfit. I’m shocked by the fact that I was able to pull this together when I was rushing to work (what else is new) last week. Polka dots and mesh aren’t a combination that you typically hear about, but it seems to work together quite well. I’m still a beginner when it comes to mixing patterns and materials but I’ve realized one of the easiest ways to do it is to find pieces that are the same color and it suddenly makes the outfit look like it naturally goes together. In this outfit, the white polka dots and the white mesh matches while the blue in the shirt is subtle so I can still add a pop of color with my lipstick and shoes. Funny, when I actually take my time thinking of what to wear in the mornings I never come up with combos like this!

This is probably my favorite outfit I’ve worn this summer and although I’m seeing a lot of fashion bloggers trying to fast forward into fall outfits, I’m still sticking with summer ones at least until the weather gets cooler! I’m going to pretend that winter isn’t quickly approaching for as long as I can haha.
