I admit, I’m a planner. I just love when everything is organized and thought of ahead of time. One of the things that I’m obsessed with is planning my outfits. When it comes to packing for my upcoming trip to Europe, I found that it was difficult to plan outfits that are both stylish and comfortable enough for long days of sight-seeing. I don’t want to look like a tourist but at the same time, I don’t want to be suffering in annoying clothes and shoes. Luckily, I found a balance and thought I’d share some examples of outfits that work perfectly for all sorts of trips this summer. The key is to bring pieces that will mix and match and work with more than one outfit. Trust me, less is more! Plus you’ll have more room in your carry-on for new stuff that you bought!
One summer I worked at the airport and I always noticed that the most stylish people wore the most simplest of outfits that made a statement. Stick with neutrals and make sure to layer since planes are usually freezing. Also, bring a hat and sunglasses as a great way to cover up messy hair and the bags under your eyes from not being able to sleep on the plane…or is that just me? haha.
For a long day of sight-seeing, being comfortable is important. I usually see tourists wearing sneakers but I thought espadrilles from the other outfit work just as well. Depending on the weather, a good trench coat or jacket is also needed along with a small crossbody that fits all the essentials. I also included the hat again since let’s face it, who feels like doing their hair while on vacation? Oh and if the weather is warm enough, opt for some high-waisted shorts to help suck in that bloated belly from all the delicious foods you’ll be eating! Remember, calories don’t count when you’re on vacation!
The one thing that you probably shouldn’t pack if you’re traveling for a while is a pair of dangerously high heels. Opt for some wedges instead that will be much more comfortable during evening events. I decided to re-use the lace top and cross-body again since they just work so well with multiple outfits. I also decided to add some fancy accessories which is easy to pack and can easily take your outfit from day to night. When in doubt, make sure to have some red lipstick on you!
Hope you enjoyed this post!
