I’ve been thinking about this question a lot for the past couple years and since I named my blog “Classy Girl Diaries”, I thought I should explain what being classy means to me. After all, it is one of my favorite words in the English language 😉
It’s about having old world charm, it’s knowing that you’re more than what society wants you to be and not giving into those bad habits. It’s about being graceful and elegant and knowing that although you have many things to flaunt, you choose to not show it. When it comes to your style, it’s about being sophisticated and never showing too much skin. It’s not a rule book but something that comes naturally to the person because they have a good head on their shoulders and can carry themselves well. Basically, it’s about being an Audrey Hepburn in a room full of Paris Hilton’s. Some days it may seem like you’re all alone and that you should become a copy of everyone else, but it’s about staying true to yourself and your beliefs despite what everyone else is doing. The best part is that you don’t need tons of money to be classy and even if you were rich, you can’t go off and buy class.
Although there’s a fair share of celebrities who obviously aren’t classy and some days it may seem like classy girls are a dying breed, believe me there’s tons of classy girls still out there. I think in a way that’s why I created this blog, to find more girls out there that are like me and to be classy together, as cheesy as that sounds!
I think I’ll end this post with some advice: Although trashy girls may get all the attention, a classy girl will always get respect. Class is forever…
