Notice anything different? Yup I’m back to the dark side and decided to dye my hair darker! If you follow me on IG @ruyakiraccc, I’ve shared my struggles with my damaged hair and the hair loss that I went through and decided that the next step towards healthy hair was to move away from the blonde for a while. I’ve been dyeing my hair lighter for more than 8 years now and I feel like it’s caught up to me. Honestly, it feels freeing to dye my hair close to it’s natural color again (cliche, I know!) and to even embrace my natural wavy hair! I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve taken photos for the blog with my natural hair showing. If you had asked me years ago to dye my hair dark I would’ve had a meltdown, but now? I honestly care only about the health of my hair. That’s what I love about getting older actually – you begin to only worry about the things that truly matter. Although I’ll admit, it took me a few days to get used to the dark hair, every time I looked in the mirror I couldn’t recognize myself! lol.
Anyways, let’s get to the outfit! When it comes to my wardrobe I’ve been gravitating towards comfortable outfits for work and choosing staples over trendy items. It’s funny, in college I would always be the girl that would wear blazers and look super professional for my presentations yet in the real world, working at a start-up has made me want to wear comfy and casual pieces! lol.
Today’s work look features a top from a classic piece that everyone seems to shop from for work clothes…Loft! In the past, I didn’t think they had great pieces (seemed a bit too boring for me lol) but the past few months I’ve changed my mind and have been going there more often for work clothes. A lot of their pieces are budget-friendly (they always seem to have a sale going on) and they make petite sizes so I never have to hem anything. I love the color of this top and the style makes it so flattering. Paired with some dark jeans and my go-to bag – it’s an effortless outfit to wear for work.
What are some of your favorite outfits for work? I’d love to hear them!
