One of my favorite trends for the summer has been smocked dresses! You know the ones that I’m talking about – the material that looks small but it actually expands and is super stretchy and hugs curves perfectly. I got this dress a few weeks ago during the ShopBop sale and it sold out right away but it’s now back in stock. I love the cute polka dot pattern along with the ruffle lace trim on the bottom. I do have to warn you though, it runs shorter than I thought so if you’re tall, this might not work for you. Just for reference, I’m 5’1.
Sadly, I haven’t had an occasion to wear this to – this summer has been all about work, come home, repeat – sort of thing. I miss the days when I was a kid and felt that excitement about the summer. This is actually something that I’ve been struggling with as an adult: accepting the fact that a majority of adulthood is very routine and even if you wanted to make plans and do something exciting – you have responsibilities that can’t be ignored lol. Oh well! At least blogging gives me some excitement in my life, even if it is just taking photos of this dress
