Earlier this week, my blogger bestie and I decided to check out Verbena Parlor + Social House. If you know me, there’s two things that I love more than anything: getting my nails done and coffee. This place has combined my two loves into one place! Why hasn’t anyone else thought of this before?!
When you first enter, the first thing you’ll notice is that it smells nothing like your typical nail salon. Verbena doesn’t do acrylic so you won’t have fumes all over the place! It actually has a pleasant citrus smell that’s calming. The coffee shop is in the front of the store which is brightly lit, a small amount of seating and offers a good variety of coffees, tea, rose and more. The barista was super friendly and made a great iced latte while we waited to get our nails done. Did I mention the drink is complimentary if you have a nail appointment? #Winning. This is also a great place to just chill and relax with your friends even if you’re not getting your nails done since it’s open to everyone.
In the back, is the nail salon which has cute chairs, tons of seats and plenty of nail artists although we went on a busy day so we made sure to make appointments online beforehand. One of the things that I love about this place is that they offer SO MANY gel colors! I’m talking 4 rings of gel colors. You would be surprised at how many salons don’t offer that many options. Also, another thing that stood out to me is the fact that this is the first salon that put sunscreen on my hands before putting my hands in a UV lamp…my question is: why don’t other salons do that?! It totally makes sense.
For the occasion, I decided to go with an effortless all-white outfit and wore a midi skirt for the first time in…forever. Since I’m so short, I tend to avoid long skirts or dresses since it can make me look shorter and frumpy but this one is so chic and flattering! I paired it with my new Tory Burch handbag and leopard wedges (which are the most comfy shoes ever) for some height.
As for the actual gel manicure I got, I’m going to be honest: I opted for a nail design and it just didn’t work out. I guess the nail artist wasn’t that experienced at it and I left the salon with nails that I wasn’t in love with. But that doesn’t mean I won’t go again! I’ll just do my research and go with someone different next time.
Did you like this post? I’ve been meaning to switch it up lately and love exploring Dallas so I thought I should do more posts on my favorite places! Let me know what you think.
