For 2019, one of my resolutions is to use more safe and healthy beauty products. A few weeks before the New Year, I watched a documentary on the harmful chemicals that are in our everyday beauty products and household products and quite honestly it scared me! I vowed for 2019 to switch over to better products especially when there’s so many great options out there these days. I thought I’d share with you my new everyday beauty routine that’s perfect for work or school – yet includes products that are safe for your skin:

The first thing I do every morning before I put on my makeup is to moisturize especially when it’s winter and you have dry patches all over your face (like I do!). Next, I’m trying a new foundation: the Revlon PhotoReady Candid™ Foundation in “240 Natural Beige” which is packed with antioxidants, anti-pollutants and anti-blue light ingredients (useful for us gals who are always in front of a computer). It also doesn’t have parabens, phthalates, artificial fragrances or dyes which I try to avoid since they can irritate and harm your skin.
The best part? The foundation went on so smoothly, has medium coverage and feels so light on my skin. This feels exactly like a BB cream! I was in such a rush for work on the day that I was trying this foundation for the first time that I just applied the foundation with my fingers (it has a pump which makes it so much easier) and it easily blended into my skin without streaks. Super impressed!

You know the sign of adulthood is having dark bags under your eyes! I can’t live without concealer so I had to pick up the Revlon PhotoReady Candid™Antioxidant Concealer in “010 Vanilla”. It’s made out of the same medium coverage formula as the foundation (which includes not having any parabens or other harmful ingredients in it!) but also contains caffeine so it can reduce puffiness and perk up tired eyes.
Normally I layer my concealer with a color corrector underneath but I decided to skip the corrector and loved the results with just the concealer alone! I also love the doe-foot applicator which makes it easy to apply the perfect amount.
S T E P T H R E E:
My beauty look is never complete without the perfect lip color. My go-to lip color is always a berry-shade – that’s not too light or too dark and usually matte. I decided to test out the Revlon Kiss Cushion Lip Tint in the shade “230 Naughty Mauve”. Normally I stay away from lip stains since they’re usually water-y and the color ends up being too sheer for me but I was pleasantly surprised with this. It applies like a balm but the color is full coverage and looks more like I applied a matte lipstick – without it being too heavy and cake-y. Okay, I’m obsessed!
