Ever since I was a kid, summer has been my favorite season. I just love wearing a little white dress, getting a tan from endless hours at the beach, and taking road trips and exploring with my friends. Sadly, when summer comes to an end, many of these things do as well but I found one way to make summer last a little longer and remember the season and that’s with my beauty routine. My summer beauty routine is all about being effortless yet polished and glowing and the best part is this look can be worn for everyday, no matter what season it is. Here’s how:
Step 1: Start With An Illuminating Body Wash
First I like to start my morning with a body wash that helps to wake me up with it’s scent and makes me feel awake and ready to take on the day. #HowITone: Lately I’ve been using the Tone rainbow (a collection of luxurious body washes) and have become obsessed with Tone® Radiant Glow Body Wash so I can feel energetic and bright while I use the Petal Soft scent to feel relaxed and calm and I always get these memories of my past summer vacations in Europe and spending time near the sea and sand.
Step 2: Apply Foundation & Concealer
Now onto the makeup: I’m going to apply a light to medium coverage BB cream which is lightweight but also helps to cover some imperfections as well as some concealer to hide discoloration. If you don’t want too much product on your face, then skip the foundation and just apply concealer to trouble spots around your face. Also, I’m going to fill in my brows lightly with some brow powder and set them with brow gel.
Step 3: Apply Cream Shadows & Eyeliner
Cream eyeshadows are my go-to during the summertime (especially when I’m getting ready for work in the mornings!) because it’s quick to apply and doesn’t fade away easily. I first applied a gold cream eyeshadow and patted some taupe shadow onto the crease for some depth. I’m also going to use a highlighting pencil in a cream shade to highlight my brow bone and inner corners of my eyes. Next, I’m going to apply eyeliner (I tend to avoid liquid during the summertime and go for kohl instead) and apply 2 coats of mascara.
Step 4: Bronzer & Lipstick
Lastly, I like to skip the blush and go with bronzer and apply it to areas of my face where the sun would naturally hit such as my cheekbones, my temples, and my jawline. Then I’m going to apply a rosey nude color that brings some color to my face but still looks natural.
The Final Look
That’s it! The perfect glowing summer look that will work all year round and is super easy to recreate!
