(Received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.)
A Make Up For Ever voxbox? Yup, Influenster is just on top of it’s game lately with it’s beauty voxboxes! A lot of you gals were asking me on Instagram how I can possibly qualify for so many voxboxes containing high end beauty products and that’s probably because I’ve reviewed so many on Influenster! If you’re a beauty junkie like I am, then make sure to sign up for Influenster and connect your Facebook account and start reviewing products in order to qualify for voxboxes! It’s that simple.
I’ll admit, at first I was excited to receive this voxbox and usually don’t like to check emails from Influenster which reveals what’s going to be inside cause I like to be surprised. But a voxbox that includes foundation? That’s tough. 9 times out of 10, the foundation won’t be the same shade as your skin and unfortunately that’s what happened to me. This voxbox included the Ultra HD foundation (always heard great things about this) and the Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation. I decided to get the Stick Foundation in a darker color since it looked like it would be perfect for contouring but the shade ended up being too light while the Ultra HD foundation also ended up being a few shades too light! Ugh.
Anyways, I ended up testing out both so I can write a review and quite frankly I was disappointed in the Ultra HD foundation which has been talked about a lot and a lot of people swear by. It claims it’s a high coverage foundation when in reality, I would say it’s medium coverage and buildable. I always know when a foundation isn’t high coverage when my freckles haven’t been completely covered as you can see in the photo below:
On the plus side, it’s super lightweight and goes on smoothly so if you’re looking for an everyday medium coverage foundation that will cover up redness and some imperfections then give this one a try.
As for the Stick Foundation, it was super creamy and I love the packaging which makes it easy to dip a brush into or use directly on your face for contouring. I wouldn’t recommend this for using as a regular foundation since the consistency is very thick and might make your fall look cakey. I also wouldn’t recommend it for oily or acne-prone skin since it might make your skin greasy.
What do you think about Make Up For Ever products? Have you tried these products before?
