Happy hump day everyone! There’s nothing like makeup arriving in the mail to perk up my mood ♥ This time Influenster sent me the Marc Jacobs voxbox which contains the new Glowstick which is an illuminator (or in other words, a highlighter!) in the shade “Spotlight”. Spotlight is described as a universally flattering shade because of the pearly gold and silver pigments and I couldn’t agree more! I could totally see it looking gorgeous on all skin tones and just look at that packaging! Even though this is my first time testing out a Marc Jacobs beauty product, I’ve always admired their futuristic looking package that’s sleek yet functional.
This one’s shaped like a deodorant which makes it easy to apply on your forehead, high points of your cheeks, and bridge of your nose. Since it’s the summertime and I usually skip foundation, I like to apply this highlighter directly from the tube but if you’re wearing foundation and don’t want it to smear, I recommend an angled fan brush. It’s a cream-to-powder finish so your brush will easily pick up on the product and glide on your skin without it getting all over the place which is a huge plus for me compared to liquid highlighter. Although I’m a huge fan of liquid highlighters such as Nars’ “Copacabana”, during the summer I like to stick to a powder highlighter because it doesn’t look as dewy just in case I sweat or “glisten” throughout the day.
Overall, I think it’s a great product for every girl to use year-round and it’s perfect if you’re a beginner to highlighter and need something simple. The best part is that a little bit goes a long way so it’s a great investment!
