When it comes to my hair, I’m constantly looking for new products that’s going to help moisturize and take away the damage accumulated from years of dyeing it. That’s why I was excited when I got the opportunity to test out the new Extraordinary Oil line from L’Oréal. The line was specifically created for people suffering from dry hair and contains lightweight oils such as Argan, Chamomile, Coconut, and Amla to name a few. They were kind enough to send me the Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner along with the Lustrous Oil Serum and Transforming Oil-In-Cream.
The first thing I noticed about the shampoo and conditioner is the heavy, overwhelming smell. Personally, I get headaches easily from certain kinds of perfumes so I was afraid this wasn’t going to be good for me. Luckily, the smell fades away after washing and I noticed that my hair felt a lot more moisturized yet didn’t look or feel greasy. It also gave it a little bit of shine which I was happy about since my hair usually looks dead without any products in it.
What I was really excited to test out was the Transforming Oil-In-Cream since my hairstylist had recommended that I use a leave-in product but I wasn’t sure which one to use. Talk about perfect timing! You can actually use the product in three ways: before blow-drying, as a night treatment, or simply apply it directly on dry hair. I decided to use a quarter-size amount on wet hair before blow-drying my hair straight and noticed that I had less frizz and my hair felt silkier. Then, I finished the look by adding a pea-size amount of the Lustrous Oil Serum to the ends of my hair for some extra shine since they’re usually the driest part of my hair.
Overall, I’m happy with the line and think that it’s worth giving a try, especially if you’re looking for something that’s not going to make your hair greasy. The only problem that I had with it is the smell but if you can get over that, then I think this line could be a great addition to your hair care collection.
