Happy Christmas Eve lovelies! Yesterday I was getting the mail when I discovered that Influenster had sent me the CoverGirl voxbox. Talk about a perfect Christmas gift! You can never have too many makeup products in your collection, especially free products. The best part is that you don’t have to be a blogger in order to get a voxbox. Simply register on Influenster and connect your Facebook account and you’ll be one step closer to getting a voxbox.
I was surprised to find that the CoverGirl voxbox contained the Plumpify Mascara, Colorliscious Oh Sugar! Lip Tint in “Taffy”, and the truNaked Shadow “Roses” Palette (yes you heard right, a big huge palette!). Totally lucked out this time around! I’ve noticed most makeup voxboxes only contains one product so it was awesome to find 3 full-size products. I’m a big fan of the “nude look” so I immediately fell in love with these three products cause I can actually use them for my everyday makeup.
First up, is the truNaked Shadow “Roses” Palette which contains 4 matte shadows and 4 shimmer shadows. Although the name of the palette is “Roses”, many of the colors are coppers, browns, and dark greys. Here’s a swatch of each color:
In my past experience, drugstore eyeshadows always seem to go on chalky and aren’t pigmented enough but I was pleasantly surprised to see that these went on amazing! They were super creamy and blended easily. The only problem I had was with fading so I recommend using an eyeshadow primer in order to get the most out of it.
As for the Plumpify Mascara, I’m never disappointed by CoverGirl mascaras and this was another great one that I could add to my collection. It gave my lashes an incredible amount of lift for that flirty, bright-eyed look. As for volume, I didn’t think it made my lashes look that thick but it did make them look longer. I’ve noticed plastic mascara brushes work better for lift and lengthening but for volume, I always go with an actual brush mascara (if that makes sense! haha).
Lastly, the lip tint which is a warm, reddish-brown hue that goes on smoothly and smells like peppermint. I thought the color wasn’t flattering on my skin tone but would look better on someone with tan skin. I think it’s nice to use as a lip balm though since it moisturized my lips quite well!
Hope this review helped in case you were on the look out for some new makeup products! I hope you all have an amazing Christmas!!
