Lately I’ve been on the hunt for a great travel palette to take with me to London and Paris in May. These days, I’m much more smarter about the makeup I’m buying and if it’s going to be worth it to splurge or not. I’ve just accumulated so much makeup over the years that I can’t seem to be finishing anything up! So when I spotted the latest Urban Decay palette which of course, is limited edition I just had to buy it. The palette contains 6 eyeshadows, bronzer, blush, lip gloss, mascara, and eyeliner…all in one package! I’m already impressed that they managed to fit in everything in there.
So let’s go through the details…
Eyeshadows
Six new shades are in this palette which includes (from left to right in the pic): Dive, Fix, Resist, Dare, and Stun. The sixth one is 5050 which at first I thought was a highlighter since it was located next to the bronzer and blush. This is actually another eyeshadow that they just randomly decided to give a larger portion of since it’s an all over shade. As always, the eyeshadow formula is exactly like the ones in the Naked palettes: creamy, smooth, and pigmented. The shades are all variations of browns and beiges except for Dive which is more of a copper.
Bronzer & Blush
The bronzer and blush is very pigmented so make sure to use it lightly. I wasn’t very impressed with the bronzer since it has orange tones in it that doesn’t look very natural. I prefer a more “brown” bronzer but at least it’s matte! The blush on the other hand has some shimmer in it which isn’t very noticeable so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. The pink shade of the blush can look a little too intense for some fair skin tones but I think if used lightly, it would work for most skin tones. In the picture I’ve also included the 5050 eyeshadow (third one down) which doesn’t show up well in pictures but it’s just your typical highlighter/all over eye shadow shade. Nothing special if you ask me, but good to have.
Naked Lipgloss in Sesso
The palette comes with a full size lip gloss in the shade Sesso which I would describe as a rose color with some shimmer (fourth one down). The color isn’t too overpowering and looks quite natural (hence, Naked lol) and works great as an everyday shade.
24/7 Glide On Mini Eye Pencil in Stag
My favorite part about this palette is the mini eye pencil since the UD 24/7 eyeliners are my favorite! They go on ridiculously smooth because of their creamy texture and stays on the whole day. The shade Stag is actually a brown/black color that doesn’t look as harsh as black and goes perfectly with the eyeshadows. If only it was full-size…*sighs*
Perversion Mini Mascara in Blackest Black
It also includes a mini mascara which I’m not too fond about since it doesn’t give any volume or definition for my lashes and simply makes them longer. I guess it’s still good to have just in case I forget my favorite mascara at home!
Overall, I’m glad I bought this palette since now I don’t have to bring a bunch of products with me while on vacation! Plus it’s easy to fit in my bag and touch-ups are quite easy with the big mirror that it comes with which is the biggest that I’ve seen as far as palettes go! Nice work, UD. Just in case you feel like getting it, it’s still available at Sephora.
Until next time lovelies,
