When it comes to my hair, I never minded taking risks with it. I’m fortunate enough to have thick hair that grows fast so I’ve taken advantage of it by trying out different haircuts and colors. Don’t get me wrong, I would be genuinely sad if I didn’t like the way my hair turned out but I don’t think it would be the end of the world. I can always just color it or wait for it to grow out if I didn’t like it but damage? That’s completely another story. I’ve been coloring my hair for years and damage is something that I have tons of so I’d hate to add more. This time around, I decided to go much lighter than I ever have before but without being too dramatic and damaging. Introducing…my bronde hair! A hybrid of both blonde and brunette hair!
My New Hair: “Bronde”
Since my hair was already a chestnut brown color and had thin caramel highlights that had grown out, my hairdresser decided to dye it the same brown base color and give me brighter, thicker highlights that would give an all-over lighter appearance. Although dyeing your hair in general does give you damage, this does take away some of it since it’s not an all-over color.
I’m still getting used to my hair being this light but overall I think I like it. The first thing I noticed when I looked at myself in the mirror was that it gave me a healthy glow even without makeup on so that’s defiantly a plus! I’m planning on keeping it for the summer but beyond that I’m not sure. I have to say, it is a great way for brunettes to go lighter without being an un-natural looking blonde. You ever just see a girl who’s obviously a natural brunette rocking some platinum blonde hair with the black roots showing? That’s like my biggest fear.
If you’re looking for some bronde hair inspiration here’s some of my favs…
What do you think of bronde hair? Any hair colors you’re willing to try out over the summer?
Until next time lovelies,
