It’s no secret that Lauren Conrad is my girl crush and one of the many people I look up to. I grew up watching her on The Hills and followed her through her successful business career afterwards and I swear she just keeps getting better and better! It’s refreshing to see a young celebrity so down-to-earth and ladylike and I only hope we get to see more of her in the future.
As for now, Lauren is on the cover of Allure once again (her third time!) and I can’t help but adore the Catherine Deneuve-inspired photoshoot! I think this is the first time I’ve seen Lauren sporting a smokey eye! Such a gorgeous look and far different from her usual California-girl look.
I was a bit disappointed that they only included these two pictures from her photoshoot to be published in the magazine, all those beautiful photos and you only choose two?! I would’ve also liked to see more of what she was wearing for the shoot since you never really get to see Lauren in head to toe black clothing. I remember Lauren at one time mentioning that you don’t see many California girls wearing a lot of black and it’s a color typically associated with New Yorkers. Mhm…
Lastly, I love how they went with a more moody, dark photoshoot for a spring issue instead of going with something airy and pastel which you would typically see for a spring/summer look. That just drives me nuts and has been way too overused in magazines. As Miranda from The Devil Wears Prada would say: “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking” 😉
