I used to not know what all the hype was about with pedicures until I got my very first one over the summer (I know, shocking!) and I realized how relaxing the whole experience was. I mean you just sit there and let someone else do all the pampering for you and even though I’m all about DIY these days, a pedicure is just one of those things I don’t WANT to do by myself. Now that we’re heading towards the fall/winter season, I no longer have the excuse of wearing open-toed shoes as a reason for getting pedicures yet I’m still wishing to go get them done again. Is that weird? I mean it’s not like anyone’s going to see my feet! But still! Is it strange to walk into a salon in the fall and just ask for a pedicure and not be expected to get pressured into getting a manicure also? Cause you know they’ll ask!
I think that’s one of the reasons why I like doing my gel manicures at home, it’s so much more convenient, saves money, and you’re in the comfort of your own home instead of having to deal with other people (wow you can really tell I’m an introvert! haha). With a pedicure, it just seems to be different. You go to the salon to de-stress (especially at my nail lady’s salon which is actually in her home! so much more cozy) and you let the other person make your toes look pretty. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t seem to do the same pedicure at home that my nail lady does!
But how often should you do it in order for it to be worth it? Especially if you’re in college like me and only have a part-time job? These days I’m wondering if I should start saving up for the future and stop spending money on things that some people would say is “frivolous”. Even if it is a little winter pedicure, those things add up over time!
What do you think about pedicures in the winter? Are they pointless? Would you rather save your money for other things?
Until next time lovelies,
