I used to never wear bronzer until this past summer and I’ve become addicted eversince! I’ve been using my mom’s Dior Original Tan bronzer until I realized that it was showing up too orange on my skin and had to start looking for a new one. On PurseForum, many people recommended Benefit’s Hoola bronzer for giving you a more natural look and I decided to put it to the test. It retails for $28 at Sephora and unfortunately comes in one shade (which I think is a bit annoying!) and a small wooden handle brush that fits right into the box. Here are the results:
The first thing that I noticed about the bronzer was that it was completely matte and had a soft, brown color instead of the shimmery, orange color that the Dior bronzer had. The first time I tried the product, I used it with the brush that it came with and I had to blend it out because the brush picks up a lot of product at once. It is quite a pigmented product so I switched to using a Mac 188 brush which is a stippling brush to apply less product at once. Once I did, the bronzer looked amazing on my skin! It was subtle but easily buildable and goes onto your skin smoothly despite it being powder. It wasn’t orange at all but more of a caramel brown that looks great on light to medium skin tones. Another thing I should mention is that it doesn’t show up muddy on your skin at all which is something that I’ve always been afraid of! It just blends in easily and is great for beginners to bronzer such as myself. It’s great for a bronzer to wear during the fall/winter season since it doesn’t make it look obvious that you’re wearing bronzer yet still gives your skin some color if you’re looking pale and ghostly like I do. I can see why so many people like this one and will defiantly be re-purchasing this when I run out!
The only problem I have is that I wish it would come in pan-form instead of a box since it’s a bit hard to fit a big brush in there and the box doesn’t actually close making it hard to travel with in your purse. I think I’ll live since most Benefit powder products are made like this but it’s defiantly something to think about Benefit!
What’s your favorite bronzer? Are you more a blush girl?
Until next time lovelies,
