I know, I know the title’s cheesy but I couldn’t think of anything better to describe this gorgeous purple combination I put on after I took off my gel nails (I didn’t know how hard it was to take them off!) and was surprised that I never thought of this combination before. I used Essie’s Lilacism and one of my all time favorite nail polishes’ Revlon’s Scandalous.
I’m a big fan of Revlon polishes which are pretty cheap and come in many unique colors. This particular one reminds me of a Deborah Lippmann nail polish with the mix of fine and chunky purple glitters against a black nail polish mixture. It is a bit on the vampy side so I opted for an accent nail on my ring finger and thumb since after all it is summer and I didn’t want to go too dark. I typically don’t wear black nail polish on its own but I do love when it’s combined with colorful glitters such as Butter London’s Black Knight which I currently have on my toes.
The pictures of Revlon’s Scandalous don’t do it justice, it was very hard to capture it on camera but as you can see it shines beautifully in the light. As for Essie’s Lilacism, it’s a muted lilac purple which is one of my favorites for the springtime while Revlon’s Scandalous would be considered more of a fall/winter color. It only took two coats for the colors to be fully opaque but I opted for three with the Revlon polish since they tend to be streaky. I’ve had no patience lately when it comes to doing my nails so that’s why I went for something simple but what stood out to me the most was using a girly, pastel color against a more dark, edgier color which is unexpected and I’ve been surprisingly getting a lot of compliments on it. Who knew?
Also, you may have noticed that I didn’t put a watermark on my pictures and I decided not to anymore since there’s really no point since people can still steal the pictures by cropping out the watermark. I always credit photos that I’ve used from a website anyways so I don’t think it’s a huge problem to be able to tell which photos are myn.
What do you guys think of Essie and Revlon’s nail polishes? Any ideas on what colors are best for the summer?
Until next time lovelies,
